The more people you have helping out, the better, though you’re going to want to stop or at least stall the other team from getting their carts into a depot as well.įor our other Battleground, Temple of Kotmogu, we’ve made some slight changes since we last talked about it at the event. Strategic locations will feature switches that allow you to change tracks. Players essentially escort one of several mining carts to a depot to score points. The design of the Silvershard Mine hasn’t really changed since we last discussed it at our Mists of Pandaria media event. It’s worth noting that the guards on PvE realms will remain the same as they are now. We’re still working on this, but we hope to get this adjustment in before the release of Mists of Pandaria. So, we are planning to adjust the guards only on PvP realms to where they aren’t quite as strong as you’d find them on a PvE realm, and they won’t respawn quite as quickly either. We obviously want those guards there doing their jobs, but we don’t want them to be the wall that you just can’t get over. We also know that there has been an issue with guards causing this to be a less appealing undertaking for them as the guards have gotten stronger. Tom Chilton - We know that for many PvPers, the idea of getting a large raid (or two) together to invade a city is something that can make for great world PvP. On the other hand, PvPers are afraid that things won’t be taken far enough and they won’t get the world PvP they want they often mention the issue of guards in major cities hampering their ability to do these raids.

The latest update tonight brought us some new epic items, along with several other items that were missing from our database. And now a US district court has awarded Blizzard US$6 million in damages against MDY Industries. Judge David Campbell ruled against MDY in July, and agreed with Blizzard’s infringement claims and stated the third party program tortiously interfered with World of Warcraft's sales and impacted Blizzard's relationship in a negative fashion with their customers. Furthermore, it is actually referred to as "Warden," the first time Blizzard has confirmed its name. Blizzard makes no mention of its known function of collecting data on open programs. Blizzard has alleged in legal filings that Warden prevents players from creating unauthorized copies of the game client, which was previously an unknown function.

Warden has been brought to light by Blizzard's lawsuit with MDY Industries, LLC., the creator of the gameplay automation software Glider (more popularly known as WoWGlider or MMOGlider). Blizzard's stand on moderation bots calls them "Third-Party Programs". While they are not used for cheating, Warden still disables them. "Moderation Bots" are third-party game clients written to monitor, administer, or moderate in game chat channels. Although it may conflict with the World of Warcraft EULA and ToU, there have been no reports of anyone being banned for using the Governor. "The Governor" is a third-party network monitoring tool created by Greg Hoglund that monitors a portion, but not all, of Warden's activity. It also states that the data collected is only used for finding evidence of malicious programs and cheating. Blizzard has said that Warden does not gather any personally identifiable information about players other than the account being used. The Electronic Frontier Foundation and other groups have labeled Warden as spyware.
